The Moonrise Organics Immunity Salve - The Legend of the Four Thieves
The legend of the Four Thieves has circulated in Europe for centuries. According to the story, a group of thieves were caught robbing homes during an outbreak of plague, yet none of them fell ill. The tale has been retold for centuries, and with it, a tradition of aromatic protective blends built from herbs like clove, rosemary, eucalyptus, lemon, and cinnamon.
The specific recipe has taken many different forms across different regions and traditions. What remains consistent is the central idea: aromatic herbs and spices traditionally associated with protection, cleansing, and restoration.
Our version is a salve built on a base of organic coconut oil, beeswax, jojoba oil, and elderberry seed oil, along with our own essential oil blend that draws inspiration from the four thieves tradition: clove bud, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary.
