About Moonrise Organics

Moonrise Organics began in Maine in 2015 with a simple frustration: finding clean skincare that felt good to use was harder than it should have been.

So we began making our own.

What started with facial care and herbal salves slowly grew into an apothecary of teas, botanical extracts, body care, and other goods made for everyday life.

Over the years, Moonrise has moved through many seasons. There were Etsy orders packed at the kitchen table, social media accounts, craft shows and farmers markets. There were busy seasons and quieter ones, including a long stretch when Moonrise remained open but mostly slept.

Every so often, an order would still arrive.

And eventually it became clear that Moonrise needed one of two things: to be closed for good, or to be given the attention it deserved.

We chose the latter.

Today, Moonrise is entering a new season: more refined, more intentional, and a little more beautiful. We still believe in the things that mattered at the beginning: organic and wild ingredients that are thoughtfully sourced, small-batch handcrafted production, and using less plastic wherever we can.

But we've also come to believe that useful things don't have to be purely utilitarian.

There can be pleasure in opening a tin of tea at the end of the day. Ceremony in drawing a bath. Beauty in the amber bottles and old botanical preparations that have lived on apothecary shelves for generations.

The ordinary things we do every day can become rituals when we pay attention to them.

Moonrise Organics is our modern interpretation of the old-world apothecary: botanical goods made slowly, intentionally,and beautifully for the rituals that make a life.
